4th of May 2007 Diverse Desert kite competition took place in sunny RedSeaZone Center in El Gouna, Egypt. This event collected competitors from 8 countries – Poland, Germany, Egypt, Holland, Belgium, Serbia, Slovenia and Czech. All of them had to wait two days for the wind, but finally on third day the wind picked up and they had to struggle with 6-8 bft wind. After morning skippers meeting the competitors start the race. With full of excitement ride, few crashes and collisions riders finished the race. First one was Lukasz "Ksiaze" Ceran (Poland - Diverse Extreme Team, Best Kiteboarding, Nobile, DaKine), followed by German Lutz Frankowiak and Egyptian Mohammed "Momo" Hosny. First woman was Paulina Ziolkowska (Best, Nobile), followed by Gosia Maciejewska and Asia Litwin (Best, Nobile, DaKine). Masters category (over 30) won Michal Surdykowski (EllaRe) and best junior (under 18) was Emil Bartkiewicz. Next one was the most spectacular Free Style Jam. Strong wind forced competitors for high and long jumps. Without any hesitate the woman category won again Paulina Ziolkowska (Best, Nobile). Second was 13 year old Asia Litwin (Best, Nobile, DaKine) – polish hope in woman kiteboarding, third was Gosia Maciejewska. The level of riders in man semifinals and final was really high. Freestyle area was placed close to the shore what allow the audience to watch carefully the riders. In final won Lukas "Ksiaze" Ceran (Diverse Extreme Team, Best Kiteboarding, Nobile, DaKine), second was Marko Srdich from Serbia, third one was Lutz Frankowiak from Germany, forth Robbie Fehdmann from Holland. Judges gave two prices for Egyptians – Emad Mahmoud for best trick and Mohammed "Momo" Hosny for best crash. Also Gosia Maciejewska got a price for best "board off". Main Judge was Adam Szymański. Main "bad luck" rider was Arek Jerzelkowski, who was riding second in the race and felt down next to buoy what caused that he came on finish line as a sixth one. Later in Free Style Jam, during the semifinal hit, Emad crashed on his kite, what excluded him from the final. In the evening everybody had fun in Kite's Lounge bar. After all the prices were given there was a lottery. Every rider got a cup, t-shirt or other kite gadget. The luckiest one was Paulina Ziolkowska, who won KiteSafari through Red Sea islands organized by RedSeaZone Kiteboarding Center. Diverse Desert was the first one so big and international kite event in this part of Africa and definitely not the last one (all prices pocket was 4000U$D). Main sponsor was Diverse, the others were: DaKine, Nobile, Liquid Force, Coalition and of course RedSeaZone.
